Depending on how old your boat is, if you are just needing a piece re-done to try and match the existing interior, it sometimes can match exactly to almost exactly. When ordering, you will specify if you need it to be closest match. Due to different brands of vinyl and colors/dyes used on different runs of vinyl, a perfect match is not guaranteed, but we do strive to reach as close as possible to the original if requested. Same goes for grain/textures of vinyl.
Most vinyl is stapled down to plastic or wood. Its easiest to use a flathead screwdriver or staple remover and pry the staples out and off the vinyl one at a time, being careful not to damage the vinyl. A quicker way is to take a razor blade of cut the vinyl as close to the staples as possible and then remove the staples later during the time we are preparing your new upholstery. Either way, try to be as careful as possible so that we have as much material as possible to reproduce your vinyl. We do add 2 inches of material to the end of the staple run for easy re-application.
Shipping is the customers responsibility both ways. We require you use a carrier that has tracking for packages, that way there are less chances of packages becoming lost. Shipping will be added to your final bill prior to us shipping your new vinyl back to you.
Unfortunately, we can not. We must have the pieces sent in, in order to duplicate what you have. Every boat is different, and to be sure we get it right the first time, every piece you wish re-produced must be sent in?
We do not offer a drop-in service while you wait. We have pretty quick turn-arounds, and prefer to not be rushed when working on your pieces to maintain quality of work.
Once your pieces are received and checked in, we will put it on the schedule for production. Depending on the number of pieces needed, determines the length of time required to complete your project. One or two pieces can be done in as little as a few days, and larger complete interiors can be completed in as little as 3 weeks. We do not guarantee a time of completion, but we will give you a best-guess estimate at time of ordering.
We sure can. Some pieces, like seats, can be tricky to get apart. Give us a call and we will give you our best advice on removing the vinyl from any pieces you might be having problems with.
We need as much information about the piece we are re-creating as possible. Pictures are worth a 1,000 words, and helps us understand bends, curves, tucks, folds, etc when re-creating your vinyl so that when you get it back, it is as close to original as possible. This makes it easier for you to re-assemble your pieces.
